I am a writer, editor, journalism educator, and the author of The Porch Light, a Substack about the invisible threads that hold families and communities together.
As Associate Director of Boston University’s Power of Narrative conference, I help shape conversations with some of the most respected voices in longform journalism. I also created a pioneering course on trauma journalism for BU’s College of Communication and served as Associate Editor of Acts of Witness, a magazine published by the Ochberg Society for Trauma Journalism. My reporting and essays have appeared in Globe Magazine, Nieman Storyboard, The Christian Science Monitor, Cleveland Magazine, and other regional and national publications.
